Pretty Shady Summer Spotify Playlist

23 January 2015 | 12:15 pm | Caitlin Medcalf

We've brought you some of the best shady spots of some killer artists around Aus thanks to Pretty Shady. Check out our latest Spotify playlist.

There’s nothing worse (and potentially dangerous) than enjoying a nice day at the beach with a bunch of mates and returning home to realise just how sunburnt you are. It’s the pain of the day that stays with you for quite a while, and only once it starts peeling, do you regretfully think “Damn, I wish I wore sunscreen”.

Pretty Shady is a movement that aims to bring sun safety back to Australia. It is a fact that Australia has the highest rate of skin cancer in the entire world. In fact, 2 in 3 people in Australia will be diagnosed with some form of skin cancer in their lifetime.

Pretty Shady believe that by taking action early and acknowledging that sun safety is an extremely important aspect of Australian life, we can be the generation that stops skin cancer, one summer at a time. And that means saving lives.

We teamed up with Pretty Shady to bring you some of our favourite artists’ thoughts on their top shady spots to relax in over the summer. We spoke to Perth’s SABLE, Adelaide’s OISIMA, Brisbane’s PACES and Sydney’s NICOLE MILLAR to find out about different places to head to on a hot summer’s day.

Look out for our upcoming piece featuring AKOUO'stop shady spots to head to in Tasmania.

Pretty Shady and some of our favourites have shown that it’s easy to still enjoy the summer here in Aus without having to give up the beach or backyard barbeques. All it takes is a little bit of action.
