Celebrating the release of his first full-length album, Turns, BEN BROWNING, of Cut Copy fame, has released the video for his track 'Friends of Mine'.

Created by Trouble Hands in New York, this clip is both surreal and yet a Hauntingly familiar take on daily routine. Browning is a fly on the wall to the strange ins and outs of the daily life of a ramshackle group of people, all within the four walls of the one house.

This group includes Alex Karpovsky (better known as Ray in the TV series ‘Girls’), and they repeat the same actions over and over again. The whole clip plays out as a metaphor for re-visiting old friends and comes to a close with Browning taking photos on a disposable camera, documenting how life exists and creating memories.

While the clip may seem to be a little on the sad side of nostalgic, the tone and beat of the song itself don’t entirely leave you feeling the need to contact all of your long lost buddies. There is something upbeat, and perhaps almost mischievous, about it.

The synthed sound of 'Friends of Mine' is reminiscent of something straight out of the 80’s, which in many ways reminds us that sometimes in order to understand your friends, you have to be there and be present physically, not just through technology.

Turns is out now via iTunes.
