Live Review: Trentemoller 'Decieve' (Official Video)

25 May 2014 | 11:56 pm | Lauren Payne

Trentemoller has been busy touring his Lost EP and now one of it's most haunting tracks has a music clip to accompany it.

Anders TRENTEMOLLER released his Lost EP last year and of course the talented producer is still touring it across the globe. TRENTEMOLLER is one of the most interesting producers that have come out of Denmark and if you closed you eyes and someone played you one of his tracks, you'd probably be able to guess his unique melodies in a second.

The Lost EP was a very different step for the producer as his more experimental side was shown. With the first single being a collaborative track with Johnny Pierce of THE DRUMS, we saw a new side to TRENTEMOLLER that we really liked.

The EP was of course successful but once it was released, we didn't hear much more from TRENTEMOLLER as he began his extensive tour which is still happening. Luckily he has re-emerged with a music video for one of Lost's tracks and it definitely suits the atmosphere this articular track creates.

The new music clip is for the track 'Decieve'. There is a darker atmosphere to 'Decieve' that stems from its brooding samples and quiet horns that brood at the tracks beginning. The haunting vocals of Rose Wagner, of THE RAVONETTES fame, echo throughout the track like a ghost that has decided to haunt the producer and his music, but in the best way possible. The song does sound like an eerie anthem, one you'd probably be able to play at your next Halloween party, however it is oddly comforting also which probably makes it easier to take in.

The music video is much simpler than the track sounds. the music clip shows an elegant black and white, patched horse galloping around a small stable and just zooming right in on his coat. Although the video is just the horse, the camera angles and movements make the animal seem very mysterious. The editing and dark colouring of the clip show a very dim setting of where the horse is and who it is, which then suits the track all the more.
