Live Review: LISTEN: Klaxons 'Atom To Atom'

14 April 2014 | 3:33 pm | Lauren Payne

Klaxons have released another track from their next album and it sounds like the album will awesome new material.

Kicking since 2007, KLAXONS have been releasing brilliant material including their track that emerged in February this year 'There Is No Other Time', which they will no doubt rock at the upcoming FOR Festival and will also be featured on the new album alongside 'Atom To Atom'.

With 'post-punk rave' being their mantra, KLAXONS definitely have a unique sound that listeners adore. With their new album coming a long way off their previous release Surfing The Void back in 2010, 'Atom To Atom' is sure to give us an even clearer picture of what we're to expect on the new album, now called Love Frequency.

Sure enough at the beginning of 'Atom To Atom' we're presented with some very monotonous synths that sound almost out of this world. Soon the vocals are brought in with a very solid beat thumping quietly underneath a series of bursting synths and shimmering samples. With the lyrics echoing "atom to atom" throughout the track, you'll never feel off track when you're trying to sing along. The vocals sound very steady, just like the beat and so 'Atom To Atom' is very easy to follow and the title of the track is actually quite fitting as it has a slight scientific or spacey feel.

At it's climax 'Atom To Atom' gets very interesting as keyboards echo the vocals and they synths are turned up to create a giant crash of sounds that all seem to contrast and yet still work together in a wonderful way.

Love Frequencies is set to drop on June 9 through Akashic Records/Sony Red and if 'Atom To Atom' is anything to go by, we're in for a real intergalactic treat.
