We Are Growing, New Editor Position Available

We are currently looking for a new Editor of the Purple Sneakers Website. If you are passionate about music, writing and discovering new artists then read on.

Purple Sneakers is one of Australia’s most prominent niche music blogs. The site’s mission is to solely feature what we call ‘emerging club music’ from around the world. Our mission is to feature new music and artists that we feel passionate about.

The Purple Sneakers blog has grown to the point where it is consistently rated in Nielsen’s top 20 Australian music sites. Run by nationally touring DJs - who regularly perform at some of the country’s largest festivals - and based around a young and enthusiastic team of contributors stationed around the country, the blog prides itself as being the centre of a loyal, forward thinking music and club-based community.

Purple Sneakers takes a unique approach to online media by maintaining an ongoing strategic media partnership with some of the highest profile venues and club promoters within our scene around Australia. From our history running parties up and down Australia’s east coast, to our bustling website purplesneakers.com.au, to our weekly radio show on FBi, we’ve worked hard to foster and nurture this constantly evolving community.

The successful candidate for this position will have responsibilities including:

• Editing content for the site;
• Managing our contributor team;
• Managing social media channels;
• Overseeing the delivery of the bi-weekly newsletter.

Candidates must be tech and social media savvy, passionate about music, ambitious, forward thinking, adaptive, outgoing and be willing to work flexible hours. We need someone with writing experience, basic Photoshop and Wordpress knowledge, and possessing great communication and delegation skills.

The role on offer is a casual position on a rolling renewable contract, with scope to grow into a full-time position.
