Singer-songwriter THANDI PHOENIX has just revealed her new single, ‘Standing Too Close’, further flexing her music prowess and captivating talent.

Sydney singer-songwriter THANDI PHOENIX has just revealed her new single, ‘Standing Too Close’. Phoenix's soulful vocals and earnest music prowess is fast earning her place as one of Australia’s most captivating new talents, and has firmly planted herself on our PS radars.

Thandi Phoenix has already gathered a wealth of experience and wisdom under her belt, having performed as special guest for Jhene AikoRudimental and Tinie Tempah, in addition to her performances at Splendour In The Grass and Bluesfest. Further adding to her virtuosity, this magnetic artist is currently supporting Vera Blue on her national tour, which is darn good timing for this new single to drop.

‘Standing Too Close’ exhibits a unique fusion of UK garage and South African house genres, ultimately inspired by Phoenix’s South African heritage. This latest offering follows on from last year’s highly favoured release ‘Tell Me Where All The Lovers Have Gone’ and her 2015 debut, ‘Come Around’, flaunting her creative development in a demonstrated exploration of voice and sound.

The track opens with an emotive piano arrangement poised with poignant vocals, as the chorus plunges into cascades of up-tempo percussive break-beats, juxtaposing the tenderness of Phoenix’s vocals in an uplifting embrace of personal sentiment.
