Live Review: Ara Koufax 'Adult Concepts'

Seasoned musicians ARA KOUFAX know what it takes to remain authentic. I guess that's totally dependent on what your definition of authentic is as it's such a varied term, but I mean it in the very best sense of the word.

The guys have just put out a new two track EP called Adult Concepts, putting coping mechanisms into sound and putting forth the lure of quitting.

The title track from this one was actually written as an introduction to the duo's live show, but has since turned into something more of a staple that holds more meaning to the guys.

It's got a disco beat to it, but the magic of it is that it's an incredible slow burner. Taking minutes to build and fall with each instrument, it's busting with alternate tenures of sound that really make this one bigger than originally intended.

With complex rhythms and a contemporary feel like no other, Ara Koufax are consistently proving that they're frontrunners in terms of innovation and charm.
