Live Review: Bly 'Rosey' (Marra Warra Red Rose Rework)

14 August 2015 | 3:48 pm | Hannah Galvin

Playing around with Bly's debut single has seen Sydney's Marra Warra release his Red Rose rework of the duo's track, 'Rosey'.

A few months back, Sydney duo, BLY dropped their ridiculously addictive debut single, 'Rosey'. Replaying it many more times than the recommended dose, I'm sure I wasn't the only one who grew completely obsessed with it. Still awaiting a follow up single, we can at least rejoice in the fact that 'Rosey' has been remixed by a handful of producers, though nothing comes close to this "Red Rose" rework by MARRA WARRA!

I don't know how he's done it, but Marra Warra's reimagination of 'Rosey' is an absolute placebo. Rolling your neck and heaving your chest, this acid washed trip weighs down on you psychologically to the point of physical reaction; blurring your thoughts and slowing down the world that consumes you.

From the stretched out introductory sweep to the metallic fade out, there's absolutely no accounting for predictions; for every accented beat, warped vocal and gassy fume flooding the space is so sporadic, you may as well can your assumptions and just accept Marra Warra as the primary driver of this vehicle.

Thick, turbulent and utterly unique, Marra Warra's "Red Rose" rework of Bly's, 'Rosey' is an experience that deserves to be explored with an open mind. For hypnosis on the go, grab your free digital download HERE.
