UK newcomer GEORGIA (surname Barnes) has shared her second single and the visuals to go with it. Her energetic sound is now matched with an atmospheric video for ‘Nothing Solutions’.

The song sounds tense throughout, teetering between whether this will be ‘something’ or ‘nothing’ as a shunting, hunking set of beats are knotted together. There’s a strong sound design in Georgia’s music, and she employs lots of manipulation and generation of audio samples. There’s a throbbing instrumental beat that sounds like the scraping of wood, then her distorted layered vocals and a bunch of metamorphosing synths and edgy chords.

In the video, like a wild animal she runs through a deserted forest, dressed in an oversized kaftan coat and long dark locks of hair billow behind her. The forest has been injected with artificial colours, creating a hyper real neon nightmare environment through which she is followed by a group of creepy looking black-cladded ninjas. The visuals are kept mysterious and ambiguous, although it’s revealed that the figures are not chasing her, rather it’s Georgia who is leading the pack.

‘Nothing Solutions’ is the next single to be released from the multi-instrumentalist, producer and songwriter. The whole record was written, performed and produced by Georgia (surname Barnes) in its entirety, and recorded in her own home-studio in the UK. The single and debut eponymous album coincide for release via Domino Records on August 7th.
