Live Review: Yuma X ‘Swimming Pool’ (Official Video)

They’ve only just released the gorgeous new clip for their debut single, but it doesn’t look like YUMA X are slowing down anytime soon.

The duo have only been together a short time, however, this hasn’t hindered the quality of their sound. ‘Swimming Pool’ is an amalgamation of gorgeous, airy vocals paired with a keen eye for smooth production.

Lucy and Jake created this one over a few afternoons together, yet this feels like an immense amount of thought went into it.

The film clip is equally as thought provoking. Directed by their friend KATZKI, it follows the swimming ventures of a lone girl in a deep red one piece contrasted against the greyscale film clip.

However, it is once she is submerged that we experience the dim colours of the cloudy ocean.

The clip itself is filled to the brim with eclectic film techniques that force you to experience the ocean from a different perspective; one with an immense shape shifting quality that often distorts and presents a different line of vision.

‘Swimming Pool’ absolutely gorgeous. And the video lies equally on this scale in terms of imagery and the gorgeous thoughts it provokes
