Live Review: Nouvel Age 'What Have You Done For Me'

19 March 2015 | 4:52 pm | Emma Jones

Canadian duo Nouvel Age have just dropped their newest track, 'What Have You Done For Me', which sees the pair really step things up in their sound.

Canadian duo NOUVEL AGE have been bouncing around on the internet for a little while now, but when one of the two members is the increasingly successful, and therefore busy, POMO (David Pimentel), it's understandable that things take a little longer to release new music.

That being said, the pair seem to have found the time and have just dropped a new track in the form of What Have You Done For Me; a bright, vibrant dance track that has made all the waiting worthwhile.

A funk bass infused dance pop track that is guaranteed to get stuck in your head from the first listen - this track is a massive step forward for NOUVEL AGE.

Stunning vocals compliment the glittering synths and groovy bass. Whilst the production prowess of Pimentel is obvious, it's Antony Carle's turn of the 90's pop vocal stylings that take this to a whole new level. Powerful and emotional, What Have You Done For Me is a great pop track that will be inciting singalongs and lighting up dancefloors in no time.

The duo feed off each other as the track reaches huge heights, and sees them at their best since the release of their biggest track, Homie. Released last year, this was the first glimpse at what NOUVEL AGE were capable of, and laid the groundwork down for What Have You Done For Me. Extending on their pop stylings and increasing the tempo a little, this latest track is a big step up for the pair, and is hopefully indicative of what we can expect to hear in future releases.

Signed to HW&W Recordings, alongside KAYTRANADATA-KU and POMO himself, NOUVEL AGE are tipped to be dropping an EP this year. Until then though, What Have You Done For Me will have to do!
