Taken from his Negotiate EP, South Londoner HENRY WU offers up some loose soulful grooves in the form of the quietly tasteful ‘Don’t Want The Regular’.

The producer has been enjoying a lot of love recently on London’s NTS Radio in light of his latest release. The whole five track EP is a mellow affair and, as the first cut on the A-side, ‘Don’t Want The Regular’ sets the tone for Wu’s ambient, backyard sound.

Eschewing vocals in favour of a light jazzy guitar that comes in half way through to tell a musical narrative of sorts, the track remains pretty abstract. A low steady drumbeat keeps the track humming along as lazy piano notes drifts in and out. It’s a slightly off-kilter shuffle with the warm and fuzzy analogue style so popular amongst the current wave of London producers. This is low fi surreptitious house to ease you into Monday morning.

Negotiate EP is out now in UK record stores with a digital copy to follow soon.
