Body Language ‘Really Love’
Once known for their delicate dreamy sounds, BODY LANGUAGE have undergone a massive change in their sound. Grittier,
Grittier, grimier, darker; their latest track Really Love sees the Brooklyn band deviate completely from their original sounds in their previous two albums to make a monster of a track suited for an all-out rave, which would be significantly different to the crowds the band were drawing previously.
Intertwining dub, hip hop and r’n’b into one huge mix, Really Love is amped up and ready to unleash. Female vocal samples echo in and out as the beats bubble their way along to dub territory. They have managed to increase their intensity to breaking point, without ever overdoing it or losing control over the frantic sounds.
The same question repeats itself throughout the track asking the listener over and over again, “Is this really love?”, showing that even the lyrics in this track are a bit heavier than previous BODY LANGUAGE releases.
Really Love comes after the August 2014 release of the Infinite Sunshine EP, which is bright electro pop at it’s best. The new direction taken in Really Love will also make for interesting live shows, as the band are about to embark on a mini tour across the US (see dates below!) This track is to be released on February 17th, and I’m sure more than a few people are hoping there is a lot more where this came from!
