Live Review: PREMIERE: Godwolf 'See It Through' (Weakling Remix)

Hailing from sunny Queensland, electronic producer WEAKLING has recently taken on fellow Australian duo GODWOLF’s latest track ‘See It Through’, changing it up with a little bit of remix treatment.

The original by the Melbourne based duo consisting of JOE KOSKY and TOM ARMSTRONG is packed full of emotive power chords, and layered with what has become their trademark. An ambient and airy energy that glides throughout the entirety of all of their tracks to date. Combining the ethereal with the vicious is something not easily done in music, but GODWOLF’s ‘See It Through’ displays just that.

This perfect amalgamation of floating soundscapes and structured dance beats creates a certain mood on which this track rides. WEAKLING has managed to preserve these elements of delicacy while providing ‘See It Through’ with a heavier, more dance oriented beat.

WEAKLING’s version of the track feels very minimal, with melodic warbling sounds swooping over the lyrics and the simplistic house beat. The original track already had a poignant vibe to it, but WEAKLING has increased that tenfold.

There’s something melancholic about this rework, an engaging feeling that will have you locked in until the very last second.
