Melbourne sweetheart Banoffee puts out another killer release with a track filled with wicked vocalisation and boxy synths in 'Got It'
In addition to sounding like this perfectly sweet English delicacy (banana toffee pie), Melburnian Banoffee (Marsha Brown) serves up a delectable wrap of quirky pop music minus the English bit and with a lot more soothing synth beats by the side.
Since her last release ‘Ninja’ last year, Banoffee has been our fascination ever since. It doesn’t get any better with her latest tune, ‘Got It’; the track starts off with Marsha showcasing her signature rambling low registers with light synth work as accompaniment. As the track progresses, boxy synths replace the laid back pace while Marsha’s gentle and cool vocalization picks up, creating a strong seismic reaction, where you feel congested with passion and warm emotions.

One thing you’d pick on quickly is how ‘Got It’ is simply no frills but all thrills; employing little tools of the trade and breaking the rules of electronica 101, it still manages to knock us off our perch. You just know that this girl has GOT IT.
Although there are no dates scheduled for Melbourne just yet, bAnoffee plays the Red Bull Music Academy Stage at Splendour in the Grass and her new EP ‘Got It’ drops August 2014.
