Red Bull Music Academy Acts Added To Splendour 2014
Last year saw Red Bull Music Academy‘s inaugural appearance at the Splendour in the Grass festival, bringing the likes of ONRA, CHARLES MURDOCH and FUTURE CLASSIC DJS to the party. It was a super welcome, super successful debut: and the stage is set to return for round two at Splendour 2014.
Inspired by the culture of Tokyo’s ‘urban jungle’, the RBMA stage promises a live music experience that marries the old and the new, the ancient and the futuristic, the ‘been’ and the ‘yet-to-be’ (think neon laneways; lanterns and lightshows).
It’s a pretty bangin’ concept, manifest in a pretty bangin’ lineup: the old school hip-hop vibes of PEANUT BUTTER WOLF rubbing shoulders with such local up-and-comers as NICOLE MILLAR and REMI. Dance-happy dudes ROLAND TINGS and SAMPOLOGY will be waving the Australian club flag, whilst LA experimentalist and sonic ground-breaker NGUZUNGUZU will be bringing the pain from over the pond.
The lords of Splendour just keep on dishing out the dreams. If you needed any more reasons to start sweating for July—or, at the very least, to try and swindle your way into a festival pass—this is a pretty good one. Red Bull gives you wings: Red Bull Music Academy gives you boners.
