Live Review: Tim Vocals 'Look Both Ways' (Produced by Baauer)

10 June 2014 | 9:20 pm | Hannah Galvin

Tim Vocals has released his new single, 'Look Both Ways' that features the production work of New Yorker Baauer.

Residing in Harlem, New York, is acclaimed R'n'B singer-songwriter TIM VOCALS. Two years on from releasing his Live From Harlem mixtape, he's just dropped his track 'Look Both Ways' through LuckyMe Records.

Produced by New Yorker BAAUER, 'Look Both Ways' fills you up with a dark, cautious atmosphere, driven by voiceless whispers, empty whistles and a vibe dominating enough to provoke fear, tension and corruption. As you head further into the song, you'll recognise an unforeseen element of optimism as this heavy playground lifts into a lighter, more compassionate backdrop for Tim Vocals to steer into.

To deepen the soul of the track, 'Look Both Ways' sees close up shots of Tim Vocals hanging around Harlem in the after hours. With a red shade bleeding over the frame, slowly warping into a faded tone, the overall direction of the clip captures the expression of what Vocals has explored in the song itself.
