Live Review: LISTEN: Classixx ‘A Stranger Love’ (Salva Remix)

Salva's take on the Classixx' track 'A Stranger Love' heightens it, modernising the production side of the track, and almost entirely revamping it.

Previously, CLASSIXX retained quite a strong internet presence due to their constant output of pretty mint quality mixes and edits. After the release of their debut LP just last year, the LA dance-pop duo have sky rocketed to great heights.

Not only this, but they’ve created an excellent album that’s gained quite some attention in the dance community. This has particularly so been noticed by Californian producer SALVA, who took on the track ‘A Stranger Love’.

The original version of the track takes a kind of 70’s-80’s pop sidebar, featuring splashes of synths, and dreamy vocals that are reminiscent of FLEETWOOD MAC, if anything. SALVA’s take on the track heightens it, modernising the production side of the track, and almost entirely revamping it.

He’s kept this dreamy aura about it, by adding a slight descending progression of a chime-esque synth underneath the airy vocals. The beat comes in after the vocals, and it’s a pretty meaty drop. The synths and vocals come together, and actually accentuate the airiness of the original track through their unity.

This stunning rendition essentially encompasses the original niceties and oddities of the track, particularly the dreamy aura that surrounds it. But what’s different is the focus that has been put on the electronic production, and it definitely sheds new light on the track and its distinct features.
