Say hello to your newest Pop star, this is Elliphant. And this may be the track that takes her to that status, this is 'Could It Be'.

World, say hello to your newest Pop star, this is ELLIPHANT. And this may be the track that takes her to that status, this is 'Could It Be'. This Swedish songstress is taking giant strides towards bigger and bigger things, and 'Could It Be' is a perfect example of this.

Coming off the back off a couple of aggressive dancehall vibing tracks in 'Ciant Here It' and 'Down On Life' as well as the softer pop touch on 'Music Is Life', this latest track shows off a more refined and slick side of Ellinor Olovsdotter (aka, Elliphant). 'Could It Be' works with bass laden beats and industrial samples, alongside her unique vocal ability and 90's R&B grooves - it's a brooding and moody take on Pop. The result is a very special Pop gem.

The clip itself, directed by Air & Space/ BAS  works well with the dark elements of the track and particularly the lyrics that Olovsdotter spits out. And although it seems to be her own way of figuring out what's gone rancid in her kitchen - it appears there are some deeper and more personal themes within the storyline. Hence you find Elliphant basically freaking out within her own house, which is filthy by the way, and dealing with some supernatural stuff going on in her own head.

I guess if your boss is not into seeing drugs, it could be considered NSFW, but whatever man, this one is gonna be big. She recently inked a deal with Dr Luke’s (Katy Perry, Avril Lavigne, Pink) Sony imprint label Kemosabe earlier in the year too. So watch out charts, Elliphant is coming for you.
