You may or may not have heard of Swedish-based singer, ELLIPHANT - but one thing's for sure, you are definitely going to be hearing more of her in the coming months.
Brimming with sexy attitude, ELLIPHANT has just inked a deal with record producer DR. LUKE's Sony label imprint KEMOSABE RECORDS, which has been home to artists such as Ke$ha, Juicy J, and G.R.L.

As double-good news, you can watch ELLIPHANT's official video for her single 'DOWN ON LIFE'. The clip is filled with iconoclastic Icelandic imagery. Plains blanketed with snow, darkly overcast shores with deep black waters, and icy mountainous peaks all appear within the clip, all whilst she and her friends pose on horseback.
The imagery and composition of the clip remind me of both THE KNIFE and BJORK - murky hot springs and shots of dusty interior rooms, harken back to past scandinavian pop icons, whilst still managing to shine through with her unique personality.
The clip sits nicely with the track, synths bounce back and forth whilst the singer's quirky vocal style brings a fresh height to the track, all tied up with huge drums, almost tribal in their tone. Bringing this kind of standard to the table first time round, ELLIPHANT has made her triumphant entrance, showing a more than promising potential.
