EMOH INSTEAD aka. Chris Emerson, also known for his work as part of the two-piece party duo WHAT SO NOT, has talent coming out of every part of his body and has now decided to show us all what he's made of.

With a solo debut EP on it's way out into the world, EMOH INSTEAD has embarked on an Australian tour playing his brand new tracks and of course a few of the old favourites. We sat down with the man himself to talk touring, making dance-worthy tracks before he took us through 5 items he never travels without...

With What So Not and your own solo work becoming more and more popular every day, do you find it difficult to balance the workload between these two very successful projects?

It can be challenging, but it's good to be challenged. I find more than anything they compliment each other & aid in creative output. As well making you more efficient, focused & dedicated.

You’re booked to play Stereosonic this year, anything special punters can expect once you take the stage at the festival?

We have a stack of new material we'll be unveiling as well as inflatables :3

Do you enjoy playing for these big crowds more or do you prefer intimate performances?

Big shows are amazing, but it really depends on the crowd/event. You can play to 2,000 people that don't give a shit & 10,000 that do. I guess that's the risk you take at these big events as apposed to an intimate club where everyone is there for you. I don't prefer either, they are just different

If Emoh Instead could have a tagline, or say a motto to live by, what would it be?

Anything by Drake.

You've just started your own Australian headline tour. Any big party stories from the trip thus far?

To be honest, I can't even remember ha. I think we were car surfing at some point? & someone pee'd on a Mac Donald's drive through booth.
