Live Review: WATCH: The Flaming Lips and Prefuse 73 'Supermoon Made Me Want To Pee'

Yes we loved The Flaming Lips and Heady Fwends. We honestly thought it was super great. But we want to talk about this ‘ere video because well, THE FLAMING LIPS make very odd videos. And another thing, we like beatmakers, like PREFUSE 73.

‘Supermoon Made Me Want To Pee’ is a psychedelic cartoon. What it lacks in plot it makes up for in violent imagery. Let’s just say skeletons seem to be the it thing; after all, it is the apocalypse. The eerie sound and the thumping bass are perfectly illustrative of the pictured state of disarray. The song is a cacophony of sounds just as the video clip is a cacophony of very odd and somewhat disturbing images. I’m not sure what it means, but I think I might be right in saying that an astronaut time travels. And a Neanderthal pisses on a skull, thus bringing together the strange clip with its equally strange title.

All things said and done, the animation is pretty cool in its own disjointed way. Watch it, and marvel at how Wayne Coyne is still considered a perfectly sane man.
