Live Review: Kaytranada puts his signature spin on NAO's "Get To Know Ya"

NAO’s incredible 2016 album For All We Know has been revived with a stellar remix package featuring an incredibly diverse array of producers and rappers including STORMZY and LOXE, SBTRKT, MURA MASA, SAM GELLAITRY and of course, everyone's favourite beat maker/producer KAYTRANADA.

Kaytranada reworked track two off the original album; ‘Get To Know Ya’. Kay takes NAO’s self-described wonky funk production reminiscent of the music of BEN KHAN and JAI PAUL, and replaces it with a laid-back, funky and bass-heavy track that's identifiably the production of Polaris Music Prize award winner Kaytranada.

‘Get To Know Ya’ features the lush synth chords and syncopated percussive rhythms that Kaytranada loves to throw into his best tracks. NAO’s divinely high voice contrasts against the deep bass that makes this track perfect for dancing to in a dimly lit club.

For All We Know – The Remixes – EP features some of the best producers in the electronic game at the moment. With the gift of incredibly poignant and unique vocals, it wasn’t hard for the producers to come up with banging tracks off the back of NAO’s debut.

Fingers crossed for more Kaytranada and NAO collaborations in the future.
