Melbourne band FOREIGN/NATIONAL have hit the ground running this year: dropping a new single, tour dates, and details of their forthcoming debut album.

Melbourne band FOREIGN/NATIONAL have hit the ground running this year: dropping a new single, a set of tour dates, and details of their forthcoming debut album.

'Mombasa' is the latest single from the band, and it is a warm and sprightly effort. Fuzzy vocals are sharpened with fizzy percussion, and it is the resonance of the keys that pull together the rhythmic interplay. Having previously described their sound as "sad disco", Foreign/National have taken a lighter approach with 'Mombasa'. The track is set to feature on the band's forthcoming album- Dépaysement.

"Dépaysement is the sound of being somewhere far, far away from home," The band stated. "It hums with the shock of being suddenly alone." Although an ominous summary, Foreign/National have a way with sweetening up the more gloomy of tones with their sun kissed sounds.
