Live Review: Treasure Fingers 'Names' ft. BOSCO (Official Video)

25 September 2014 | 5:41 pm | Darren Ng

Treasure Fingers treat fans to a lo-fi video for 'Names' featuring Bosco, promoting R&B vibes in his personal style.

American producer Treasure Fingers has always had a knack for peculiar effects and samples, choosing a refreshing beat and a mazy synth line in each of his nu-disco releases. Flashback to his remix of 'Call It What You Want' from Foster the People, he revives the 80s, glossing it with a high-pitched synth part that resonates perfectly with our excitement.

In 'Names' Treasure Fingers mixes a blend of tropical beats and the stirring essence of R&B, while infusing a summer-drenched vibe into this jazz-ed up ruby of a gem. Roping in BOSCO for a recording session could never quite be considered as a calculated risk, with BOSCO contorting lyrics into channels of soulful vocal work in the running tranquil of the verse. BOSCO's vocals in the chorus takes on a critical turn, churning out sequences of rap with an attitude.

The music video that accompanies that track is a glitchy lo-fi VHS that borrows iridescent colours and a trippy fuzzed out distortion that piles the gold on their hard style, making it the perfect clip to show at your next house party or to gawk at while you glaze.

The last Treasure Fingers set in Australia may have been a good six years ago, but while we try not to be overly ambitious for an Australian tour, we have our fingers crossed for more new mixes from the spinning maestro.
