Live Review: DZ Deathrays 'Less Out Of Sync' (Official Video)

1 August 2014 | 4:41 pm | Lauren Payne

DZ Deathrays have a new music video for their track 'Less Out Of Sync' and it definitely gets your attention.

Brisbane duo DZ DEATHRAYS have just dropped their second full length Black Rat, and after the success of their first album (winning an ARIA and all that), there were some pretty high expectations surrounding the release.

Of course despite all that, Simon Ridley and Shane Parsons have produced another fantastic album that features the song 'Less Out Of Sync' which now has a music video to accompany it.

'Less Out Of Sync' has the same attitude and bite that DZ DEATHRAYS' first album had. When Black Rat's first single 'Gina Works At Heart' was released, things had been taken into a ballad direction, but this new banger has just brought the boys swinging on back. With screeching guitars in the chorus alongside Parsons' rough vocals, we have true DZ form in our hands and can't stop listening.

The music video is definitely what steals the show here though. At the beginning we have a humble birthday party, family, friends and delicious looking cupcakes are all in attendance and everything seems lovely. That is, until we see the brat of a birthday girl smashing through her presents in a furious rage. She seems to hate everything she's given, including the DZ DEATHRAYS' dolls, and she suddenly screams so loudly that the whole rooms begins to shake. We find a similar situation with a boy and his balloon animals but soon you see there is a valid reason for their frustrations and it all begins to make sense.

Black Rat is available to purchase now and you will no doubt be able to see the boys playing around the country again very soon.
