Live Review: Kilo Kish 'Begin Route' (Official Video)

This short yet sweet official video for KILO KISH's new track 'Begin Route' is littered with images of nostalgia, wonderment, and that never ending fantasy of taking off on an unpaved road.

The black and white tones of the clip make for a poignant escape for fans and listeners alike. Kilo Kish's soft vocals quietly speak delicate notes of some form of slam poetry as she careens around the countryside, flashing images of barren land.

The video is one for romanticising over. The graphics pan quickly from abandoned hotel rooms, frolicking with a gentleman caller, and inevitably looking a little bit disappointed with the concept of escaping. Frilly socks dangle above a moving concrete pavement as tinkly jazz style riffs play around in the background.

Kilo Kish's stunning face then suddenly flashes to colour and it is like the world has unfolded like a flower in the spring. Her big brown eyes pull you in as you start to float away with the beautiful monotony of the track. The longing in her eyes tells of somewhere better and just as you think she is alone, her chariot flies into frame and she takes off into the sunset.
