Live Review: Donnell Jones 'U Know Whats Up' (Option4 Remix)
Denver producer Option4 puts his own seductive touch on his remix of '99 RnB hit, 'U Know What's Up'.
Chicago bred and now Denver based producer OPTION4 has well and truly kept within people's musical radars with his smooth sailing, deep house grooves.
Brennen Bryarly began garnering attention as OPTION4 in 2013, with his originals and remixes of acts such as TWO DOOR CINEMA CLUB and most recently Australia's own electro-pop darling ELIZABETH ROSE. Taking over the blogosphere and people's speakers one quality production at a time, Bryarly makes a return with his latest track 'U Know What's Up'.

A reworking of DONNELL JONES' '99 single (which featured Lisa Lopes of TLC), Bryarly flips this RnB hit on its head with a splash of low end beats, a swirl of flourishing synths and a touch of lounge-jazz keys. There's no easing into it, as the track begins at full density of subtle percussion and swelling chord progressions, only dipping as the octave-dropped vocal loop kicks in and leads all elements to build up once again. It's a clever deep house number that doesn't fail from start to finish, and for that Bryarly is sure to be pleased.
