Live Review: Release The Woolves and Maribelle's 'Shotgun' music video is a wild ride

Release The Woolves and Maribelle's 'Shotgun' packs all of the adventure of a feature-length film into a four minute music video.

Production duo RELEASE THE WOOLVES recently collaborated with MARIBELLE to release their new song, 'Shotgun'. This track is intense with drama, so naturally, the accompanying video is quite the epic clip indeed. The team behind the 'Shotgun' music video have managed to pack all of the adventure of a feature-length film into a four minute ride.

There is a whole lot of mystery to these music makers. Release The Woolves launch their songs from behind their masks. All that identifies them are beaming white wolf eyes and their killer production style.

However, it is quite the opposite for Maribelle. This young musician is popping up everywhere. Her vocals are sharp and assertive, and her style is the absolute coolest.

'Shotgun' has a lot of potential to break into more commercial circles. The chorus is catchy, and the trap is full-throttled, but never invasive. It plays with pop and trap genres as if there was no distinction at all. The tinkering percussion and swooping drops sound entirely at home, nestled amongst a memorable and repetitious chorus.

The video for 'Shotgun' is skilfully shot in some truly gorgeous landscapes, like a vacant sun-drenched warehouse and the sweeping planes of a sandy desert. So pop on the full-screen mode and never look away, because every moment of this clip is cinematically marvellous.

'Shotgun' is taken from Release The Woolves forthcoming debut self-titled EP, out now via Parlophone.
