Brooklyn-based Orion Sun returns as one of today’s most essential artists. The singer songwriter and producer has released her new single, 'Concrete' produced alongside Rostam Batmanglij (Vampire Weekend, HAIM). The track is also released alongside a music video directed by Morian Thomas. Orion Sun has made a name for herself with her unapologetically complex music, within the sonic realm of soul and R&B. Her most recent record, her 2020 released Hold Space for me solidified her as more than one to watch with her transformative brand of music as she explored the contradictions of her raw emotions.

On 'Concrete', she continues her epic brand of light poetic and gorgeous tracks, while ushering in a new chapter of her career, both sonically and personally. She continues her unique brand of self discovery through music in an extremely profound way, by diving into the deeply uncomfortable parts of her life. Concrete addresses the lessons, good and bad that got her to where she is today and reflecting the power of resilience in the face of challenge. Sonically the track is a downtempo, glitzy R&B number. Live percussion combines perfectly with progressive warm keys, and Sun's expansive vocal performance.

“When I think about the song ‘Concrete,’ there’s a lot that comes to mind. There are so many emotions that come to the surface when I respond to the thought train of all the moments that lead me to this point. The warm hands of my ancestors have guided me through such tough terrain. I am comforted by them and in turn, given the strength to keep going,” she says of the track.
