Ayebatonye is keeping spirits up this lockdown, making cursed mixes on paper sound epic

26 July 2021 | 2:46 pm | Parry Tritsiniotis

This lockdown, Ayebatonye's been challenging her and her audiences creative skill as a DJ, offering up a new mix series from her bedroom.

Warrang/Sydney based Ayebatonye is widely known for being one of Australia's most talented underground DJs. Known for her incredible taste setting selections, she's performed on some of Australia's biggest stages and best underground venues. She's the founder of Irregular Fit, a DIY arts platform made by and for Bla(c)k and Brown folk and an innovator in the virtual club space with LAN. Recently she's headlined SHED's 'Regensis', Nectar's '6.6' and is gearing up for a massive show at PITCH BLACK in October. This lockdown, via her Instagram and TikTok she's been challenging her and her audiences creative skill as a DJ, offering up a new mix series from her bedroom.

Every day after the NSW press conference of new COVID cases, she'll throw up a quick mashup of two tracks. While the mixes on paper may seem cursed, she flips them in ease, putting a smile on my face and her followers faces straight after getting some uninspiring news. The series is titled, BLENDS 4 THE PEOPLE and that they are. From Lil Nas X's 'Industry Baby' being mixed with Spice Girls' 'Viva Forever' to 'Crazy Frog' blended with Steven Pointdexter's 'Work That Motherf**cker' the list is set to grow and hopefully get even crazier over the next couple of weeks.

You can check out the hot mixes below and support all the incredible work Ayebatonye is doing via her Instagram.
