Catch Sampology and Kali on a retired battleship for AUDAMUS 003

23 April 2021 | 9:57 am | Emma Jones

Sampology and Kali are next up for the third installment of AUDAMUS, a new event series held on a retired battleship in the Sydney harbour.

Hot on the heels of two sold out events which saw the likes of Adi Toohey, Simon CaldwellClaire Morgan and Marley Sherman all grace the decks on the deck (pun intended), AUDAMUS 3.0 is ready to set sail later this month, and once again promises to be a night to remember.

AUDAMUS is an event held on the retired battleship, HMAS Vampire. With selections byacclaimed Brisbane producer/DJ and Gilles Peterson-backed Sampology who will be joined by celebrated tastemaker/Picnic boss Kali and Sydney DJ and Lazydaze alumni, TJ, and a menu of Middle Eastern cuisine specially curated by Riyad Seewan of celebrated Surry Hills restaurant, Henrietta, this chilled out affair is not one to miss. Further, in contrast to the standard set times we've become accustomed too, AUDAMUS will feature one artist playing a more prominent 90 minute sundown set transitioning into night time, bookended by 60-min opening and closing sets.

As part of the effort to bring nightlife culture back to Sydney after a very tough period in the wake COVID-19 shut downs and red tape, Australian National Maritime Museum have collaborated with EMC and Lazydaze to create AUDAMUS which offers a point of difference as many promoters look to diversify and intensify their experiential offerings.

Australian National Maritime Museum CEO Kevin Sumption said of the event, “The Australian National Maritime Museum is incredibly proud of its fleet of vessels that celebrate our country’s seafaring history. The opportunity to partner with EMC and lazydaze provides a unique and surprising way for Sydney audiences to experience one of the world’s great outdoor museum experiences. The Museum would like to acknowledge the City of Sydney and NSW Government’s support enabling new ways for the people of Sydney to engage with one of the city’s most iconic cultural institutions. We look forward to welcoming you to the Maritime Museum to experience a sunset of sound and taste like no other!”

Following her performance at Audamus 002, Sydney/Berlin ex-pat DJ Claire Morgan said, “Collaborations such as Audamus - where audiences are given the opportunity to experience art in unique locations - are unfortunately rare and involve disproportionate risk and work for the organisers. It is refreshing to see Sydney's creative industries embraced and supported. This benefits the entire city, both from a purely economic standpoint and by improving the quality of life of all Sydneysiders.”

Held on the helipad of the HMAS Vampire and its sweeping Barangaroo panorama, Audamus 003 will be held on Friday 30 April 2021, 6pm – 9:30pm on the HMAS Vampire at the Australian National Maritime Museum. Get your tickets HERE.
