Live Review: PREMIERE: Juno Disco return with dancefloor bliss in 'Dreamin''

10 March 2021 | 12:18 pm | Emma Jones

Melbourne/Naarm duo Juno Disco are back with a euphoric dancefloor moment in their brand new single, 'Dreamin''.

Melbourne/Naarm based dream pop duo Juno Disco first caught our eye back at the very end of 2020 with their single 'You're So Hung Up On My Colours'. At the time, we said it was " a bright, funky, fresh breath of airy vocals paired with slick synthy toplines and a funk-filled groove perfect for soundtracking a cool spritz on a hot summer afternoon," and made a note to keep them firmly on our radar. Now, they're back and well and truly upping the ante with their brand new single, 'Dreamin'', which we are thrilled to be premiering today.

Inspired by the iconic era of 90s UK dance music, the pair combine UK garage and rave influences with that innate pop goodness we first fell for to create a euphoric, uplifting and exhilarating rush of dancefloor bliss. Sounding equally nostalgic as it does future-focused, familiar yet exciting and fresh, 'Dreamin'' is a seriously impressive step up for the duo.

Speaking of their new single, they said, “2020 had a funny effect on our music. It seemed like the longer we went without a proper boogie, the more drawn we became to heavier, more club-centric dance music. ‘Dreamin’’ really hit the nostalgic spot for us as we longed for late nights at the club, but hopefully it still resonates with people as an emotional pop song too.”

There's not much we love more than an emotional dance pop song, and Juno Disco's 'Dreamin'' is hitting in all the right ways. To celebrate the release, Juno Disco will be playing their first headline show in over a year at The Leadbeater Hotel on April 17, with tickets on sale soon. Listen to the song below!
