Charli XCX has announced she will premiere a documentary on the creation of her 2020 quarantine album at this year's SXSW Film Festival.

Charli XCX was one of the first artists to create and release a record made entirely in quarantine. Titled how i'm feeling now, the record featured singles including 'claws', 'i finally understand' and 'forever', and distilled what many around the world were feeling with the sudden, immediate isolation from our friends and family as the pandemic took hold of the world in March, 2020. Now, she's announced she made a documentary about the creative process, and is set to premiere it at this year's SXSW.

Titled Alone Together, the documentary was directed by Bradley Bell and Pablo Jones-Soler, and is the first ever documentary Charli XCX has been involved in. In a post on Instagram, she wrote, "The documentary tells the story of not only the 5 week process surrounding the making of my album, how i’m feeling now, but also all the emotions that creating, connecting and living in a quarantine and in basically a new world evokes for people across the globe."

"Thank you to the angels who are featured in this documentary and also to directors @bradleyandpablo, u now know me inside out. Thanks to @emmieshouse @kvrowley @sampringle and of course, scene stealer @huckkwong. Thank you to iconic Ross Levine, not sure what ur insta handle is, and also to all the editors and others who helped us with this feat. Not sure when this is coming out but enjoy it when it does. ?"

Recently, Charli XCX joined fans' calls to NASA to name a planet after the late Sophie Xeon, who passed away in January.
