PREMIERE: IJALE does it big on new single ‘XXL’

IJALE

Melbourne-based producer, lyricist and performer IJALE continues his hot streak in 2020 with a whole stack of good news recently, including a freshly inked deal with Daily Nightly, and now the release of a brand new single. Proving a favourite of his sets pre-COVID, the rising artist gives a crowd pleaser an official debut with the release of ‘XXL’ which we are thrilled to be premiering on Purple Sneakers today.

Dripping in confidence and swagger, but paired with the effortlessly cool and collected timelessness of a Madlib instrumental, IJALE seizes this moment to (very deservedly) flex for a second. Having already dropped an acclaimed EP this year titled Wildly Disparate Sounds, he kicks off his next chapter with a confident and self-assured step up on ‘XXL’, still exploring his own unique brand of conscious hip hop but with a different lens, this time reflecting on what it means to him to really be on top of his game — and it’s not what you might think.

Inspired by a sense of confidence he feels “life, about my choices, about my path and the people I had around me at the time,” while this song might be a mainstay in IJALE‘s catalogue, it still serves as an interesting and impressive addition to his growing discography. IJALE said of his new single, “XXL is just me feelin’ myself one time. It’s about not needing hella followers or heaps of cash to be on top of your game.”

Quickly becoming a rising figure in emerging hip hop in Australia, IJALE continues to defy expectations with each and every move. Listen to the song below:
