Live music set to return to the Gold Coast with innovative new Feedback Festival

16 October 2020 | 10:07 am | Emma Jones

Spread over ten nights in ten different venues with over 50 bands, Feedback Festival is set to turn the Gold Coast into a giant music mecca this December.

It's been a weird and uncertain year for everyone this year, but particularly so for the music world. When the global industry screeched to a sudden halt back in March, live music was suspended indefinitely as the world grappled with the pandemic, and it remained unclear as to when it would ever return. Thankfully, things have slowly started to open up again and live music is (very) steadily returning to our venues. We've seen small, seated gigs across the country, festivals in Perth and innovative new ways to experience live music while remaining COVID-safe are being explored.

Enter FEEDBACK FESTIVAL, a brand new festival to hit the Gold Coast this December. Spread over ten nights, the festival will descend on ten of the country’s most unique music venues and will focus squarely on delivering an exciting program of discovery and excitement, highlighting local artists and promoting Australian music. More than 50 bands have been booked, with a few secret headliners still to be revealed.

Fans of Jazz can enjoy dinner and a show at Spaghetti & Jazz, while those looking to check out something free with the family can explore what HOTA has on offer. Elsewhere will continue to provide a world-class combination of electronic and indie line ups and Mos’ Desert Club House will become the prime spot for cocktails and live, left-of-field entertainment.

For punters looking to experience something a little rough around the edges, Vinnies Dive Bar will be putting on a handful of punk-inspired shows while The Soundlounge, Southport Yacht Club, Southport Sharks and the Southport RSL will be promoting shows at a slightly less intense pace.
