PREMIERE: Khi’leb is anything but unfocused on infectious new single, ‘Broken Focus’
Rising Brisbane rapper KHI’LEB continues to go from strength to strength with a slew of impressive singles already under his belt. The 18-year-old is working hard carving out his own space in the thriving Brisbane hip hop scene and beyond, and his latest release looks set to further solidify his standing as a serious act to watch. Titled ‘Broken Focus’ and premiering on Purple Sneakers today, this infectious new single sounds something like a collaboration between Kaytranada and Kid Cudi and has the good vibes at an all time high.
Produced, mixed and mastered by Liam Thomas, ‘Broken Focus’ tackles the tough time Khi’leb went through when he was figuring out his priorities. Having to decide what he wanted to focus on, and the liberation and freedom that came from this resolve, Khi’leb manages to not only speak from his personal experience but also provide motivation through his uplifting message.
Khi’leb said, “Broken focus is about understanding your priorities as well as putting yourself in a position where you are able to focus on your goals and or purpose, and not letting anything distract or detour you. At the time of the recording of this song, I was still struggling with knowing my priorities and I wanted this song to reflect my change of behavior and mindset, as i constantly repeat the lines ‘I don’t want no broken focus’.”
An ode to staying focused on achieving your goals and dreaming big, ‘Broken Focus’ is a warm, inspiring track from an artist who is really just getting started. Listen to ‘Broken Focus’ below:
