Live Review: Human Movement takes us through his favourite post-pandemic heaters ahead of Parry Talks' Room 2 Radio takeover

Ahead of him ripping the lid off his set for Parry Talks' takeover of Room 2 Radio, Human Movement dishes on his favourite post-COVID belters.

Sydney’s HUMAN MOVEMENT has been a long time favourite of ours here at Purple Sneakers. With each and every release, he delivers another exciting piece to the constantly expanding Human Movement puzzle, taking his listeners and fans on the journey with him as he navigates many different worlds within dance music.

Releasing one of his biggest tracks yet just as the pandemic started to take off in March titled 'Elevate', it has been on heavy rotation for many as a reminder of the dancefloors we're all sorely missing and can't wait to return to once more. It's also been a bittersweet affair with Human Movement unleashing this dancefloor destroyer at a time when we can't dance to it, but now we're finally in with a bit of luck tonight as the man himself is set to jump onto Room 2 Radio airwaves alongside Lex Deluxe and Limmer for a special Parry Talks takeover. Looking set to be one for the livestream history books, this is not a virtual event you'll want to miss!

Before he rips the lid off, Human Movement has shared with us some of the heaters he's been rinsing since the pandemic. We've been fortunate enough to be gifted with an extensive variety of really brilliant new dance music, so here he lists just a few of his post-COVID belters to really get us in the mood for tonight. Check out his picks below, and catch him this Friday (tonight) from 8pm on Facebook and Twitch (more info head here).

Sleep D - Freak Of...

Sleep D released their latest EP last week, ‘Freak of Nature’ and this A side caught my attention straight away. In love with the super punchy drums, I can't wait to play this one out.

Lyra Valenza - Sport Mode

I'm in a group chat with a bunch of mates who flick through songs, and funnily enough Parry sent one through a couple weeks ago. It’s always nice to break up a 4 to the floor set with a garage number like this one.

ZeroFG - Fundamental

Dr Banana always delivers tier one garage and this new one from ZeroFG is no exception.

DAWS - Times Up

I’m a massive fan of the latest Fluxx release, and this DAWS track really stood out from the pack for me. The bassline in this really caught my attention and is super catchy.

D. Tiffany - ZOZI'S HOUSE

I’m a massive fan of D. Tiffany, and this track on her recent ‘Diva Demos’ tape is probably my favourites. If 1.15 doesn't get you moving not sure what will.

Reptant ‎– Phasic Reflex w/ Roza Terenzi Remix

Another release thats stood out to me was Reptant’s latest EP on Kalahari Oyster Cult. It’s hard to beat a Roza Terenzi remixtoo. Love the atmosphere it brings, then goes into some serious 303 acid blended with a groovy 2 step beat. Definitely something to bring out in the early hours of the AM

Dawl - Break It Down (Kosh Remix)

This ones all about the hats for me. Perfectly swung with the rest of the drums. Also that rolling bassline with the bright chords pitch bending is something else.

Andy Garvey - 8808808.08

Quick one from Aussie Hero Andy Garvey has delivered an absolute heater on one of my all time favourite labels Lobster Theremin.

Unknown - Rr

Hip House is doing it for me in a big way at the moment. Shout outs to Lody for getting me hooked.

Skee Mask - Type Beat 3

Still yet to come across an average tune from Skee Mask. Probably one of my favourite producers at the moment. Type Beat 3 definitely ticks all the boxes for me.

Room 2 Radio: Parry Talks Takeover will be broadcasted on Facebook and Twitch from 8pm on Friday, September 25th.
