Sydney future bass pioneer Wave Racer returns with a Danny L Harle collaboration in 'Higher', his first single in nearly a year.

Releasing his first single in almost a year this week, Sydney future bass pioneer WAVE RACER returns this week with 'Higher'. Teaming up with PC Music powerhouse, Danny L Harle (Charli XCX, Rina Sawayama, Caroline Polachek) it's vintage Wave Racer (real name Tom Purcell), brought into the future with new experimentation with that same dazzling rush we know and love.

Coming just in time for warmer days -despite no confirmed return to dancefloors just yet- 'Higher' is the effervescent, vibrant and uplifting slice of forward-thinking futuristic pop we need right now. Immediately impactful, 'Higher' is a masterclass in concise, infectious pop and as it soars to dizzying heights, you find yourself succumbing completely to the sleek and bubbling certified bop.  A match made in musical heaven, Wave Racer's and Harle's sounds were already complementary and existing within the same sonic realm, so it makes sense that a collaboration between the two would yield the very best in a song.

On ‘Higher’ Purcell explains, “For me, the song functions not only as an ode to the notion of ascension, but it's also a kind of trophy symbolising my overcoming creative roadblocks - it set in motion a whole series of creative changes in my life.”

'Higher' follows on from his 2019, Kwame-featuring single 'AUTO'. With 'Higher', Wave Racer solidifies his stake as a producer who remains as just as ambitious and ahead of his time as he was back in 2013 when he first surfaced. We can't wait to hear more.
