Kllo taps Jacques Greene for dreamy ‘Still Here’ remix
Melbourne electro-pop duo Kllo have shared a glimmering new Jacques Greene remix of their single ‘Still Here’ off the pair’s recent second album, Maybe We Could. As one of their earliest musical influences, Jacques Greene has graced our ears by putting his unique touch on the original tune, turning it into an expansive and atmospheric new bop.
Sounding effortless in its creation, Greene has transformed ‘Still Here’ into an effervescent and emotionally driven anthem that pulsates with vibrancy. Like floating through space, this remix feels airy and ethereal with Chloe Kaul‘s echoing vocals throughout. Managing to meld a collection of intricate electronic elements into just five minutes, the Canadian producer delivers a dreamy listening experience.
Comprising of Chloe Kaul and Simon Lam, Kllo have been inspired by Greene over the course of their career with the musician being an early influence for the duo. Chloe said of the collaboration, “Jacques Greene was one of the first musicians we bonded over, so it’s surreal to have him remix one of our tracks! He’s inspired our sound a lot over the years.”
Greene has brought artistic vision to this new remix, imprinting his unique feel for mixing sounds and beats to create an intricate story through woven soundscapes. Remixing for the likes of Radiohead, Shlohmo and Ciara in the past, and releasing his most recent album Dawn Chorus in 2019, Greene now returns to share an enthralling and encapsulating remix of ‘Still Here’.
On the remix, Jacques Greene states, “Though a pleasure, it’s also quite a challenge to remix music you already listen to a lot. I’ve always been struck by Kllo’s control of mood. Instead of fighting it, I tried to lean further into the energy at the core of the track. Music for a bus ride with one broken earbud or insomnia scrolling.”
Bringing a hypnotic touch to Kllo‘s song ‘Still Here’, Jacques Greene has mastered an already stunning track, amplifying its sonic elements even further to create a rendition dripping in pure bliss.
