Melbourne collective 30/70 tap five acts to breathe new life into songs from their acclaimed 2019 album, 'Fluid Motion'.

Melbourne future-jazz group 30/70 have followed up the 2019 release of their third album with a very special remix EP. Titled Fluid Motion Remixed, the collective have tapped five acts to breathe new life to their original funk-filled jazz space odysseys, with the whole EP out now via Rhythm Section Intl.

Selecting Close CountersSetwunAthlete WhippetSAUL and Maxwell Owin, each of the five acts delivers distinctly different flavours to their respective remixes. From the bouncy breaks of SAUL's take on 'N.Y.P' to the moody electronic groove of Athlete Whippet's version of 'Tempted', Close Counters throwing 'Impermanence' to the club and Setwun's dance funk infusion of 'Fluid Motion' while Maxwell Owin takes 'Tempted' for another round with his 'Blind Faith' remix, this EP has something for everyone.

In a press statement, SAUL said, "We're both big fans of 30/70 so getting the opportunity to work with their new material was sick - it was our first remix as a production duo so was heaps of fun to put together. We loved Allysha's vocal on 'N.Y.P.' so wanted to try flip it into something completely fresh - we hope you enjoy the end result!"

Closer to home, Close Counters added, "The worlds of Close Counters and 30/70 have both been intertwined by the soul of Melbourne. They came to overlap in the Melbourne scene through a few jams and collaborations through respective side projects - ZFEX and Horatio Luna/Luna Exchange. The relationships grew as Finn was recruited to the 30/70 collective leading into their 2019 European tour. The CC remix of Impermanence journeys from the original grittier Bruk feel to a steady-chugging dance floor number. An ode to the sweaty festivals and D-floors of Summer ‘19."
