After releasing a new EP only just last week, Hudson Mohawke fans have even more to be excited about with the release of a brand new album.

After releasing a new EP only just last week, Hudson Mohawke fans have even more to be excited about with the release of an entire album's worth of new music over night. Titled B.B.H.E (which stands for Big Booty Hiking Exhibition according to Resident Advisor), the album is full of "fan favourites" and previously-unreleased rare cuts from the esteemed, genre-defining producer.

Taking to Twitter, Hudson Mohawke explained the release came from a decision he made when lockdown first started. Citing that he is continually asked about a lot of these songs and thinking they were long lost over the years, he rediscovered many of them through radio rips, Reddit and YouTube among other places.

In a statement, Warp said of the new release, “With 2020’s pandemic quarantine compelling everyone to rethink so much about their lives and choices, Mohawke questioned why he’d been hoarding this stuff to begin with. No doubt those formative years of white labels and DJ exclusivity fed into this protective mindset, yet such vigilance eroded while sequestered at home in L.A. “There's enough distance between this music now,” he says of these songs which date as far back as the mid-2000s. “At some point you have to set it free.”

Mohawke also took to Twitter to advise fans that all proceeds from the Bandcamp sales of B.B.H.E will be donated to Refuweegee (A community based charity set up to help welcome refugees to Glasgow), The Black Curriculum (A social enterprise that delivers Black British history through the arts, in schools and out of schools to all young people in the UK), Summaeverythang (A food donation charity in Los Angeles) and Building Beats (a nonprofit that teaches entrepreneurial and leadership skills through DJing and music production programs).
