Kevin Parker has released a new video of him performing the Tame Impala song, 'On Track', giving the song a whole new meaning with an acoustic version.

A few months on from the release of his latest album, The Slow Rush, Kevin Parker has shared an acoustic version of him performing the Tame Impala song 'On Track'.

Not unlike the version he performed in April as part of Music From The Home Front, the one-take clip shows Kev just sitting in a studio as he performs the song. The acoustic guitar replaces the dreamy, layered atmospherics and vocal effects, and provides a very different perspective for the song's lyrics indeed.

Verses like "I know it's unrealistic, over-optimistic/ I know I tried before this, I know it's nearly August/ I know I can't ignore this, looking forward to all this/ Sayin', "Babe, I just adore this" and, "Babe, can we afford this?"/ I know it's been a slow year, nothin' much to show here/ I didn't really go for it, so not a lot to show for it," hit very, very differently now.

It was a busy start to 2020 for the now globally-adored artist, who followed up the release to The Slow Rush with a bunch of activity including release live footage from when he and the live Tame Impala gang headlined Coachella, performing on Stephen Colbert, remixing his own song, and jumping on an episode of Song Exploder.
