Archie Roach, Miiesha, Thelma Plum, JK-47 and more set to perform at 2020 National Indigenous Music Awards

The performers for this year's live streamed National Indigenous Music Awards have been announced.

Not even a pandemic can stop the National Indigenous Music Awards from pulling out all the stops possible to make their 2020 edition as special as possible. The awards have announced today a star-studded list of performers and live crosses confirmed for the broadcast set to kick off August 8th.

Archie RoachThelma PlumMiiesha, Mambali, JK-47 and Emma Donovan will all perform during the live streamed event, while Jessica MauboyMitch Tambo and Electric Fields will also be apart of the broadcast via live cross. Furthermore, a very special tribute to Warumpi Band is also confirmed, with Christine Anu set to perform 'My Island Home' alongside Mau Power, Neil Murray, Jim Moginie and Rob Hirst.

Miiesha is set for a big night during the awards ceremony, leading the charge with three nominations for New Talent of the Year, Album of the Year for her debut record Nyaaringu, and Film Clip of the Year for ‘Drowning’. Baker Boy is tied with Miiesha for three nominations (Artist of the Year, Song of the Year for ‘Meditjin’ featuring Jess B, and Film Clip of the Year, also for ‘Meditjin’), with another 22 artists all nominated across seven categories.

The awards ceremony will be held at August 8 from 7pm AEST and is set to be livestreamed across Twitter, Facebook and YouTube, as well as a broadcast on NITV for free-to-air television, Double J on digital radio and National Indigenous Radio Service broadcasters on terrestrial radio.
