Sydney-via-Gold Coast hinterlands artist HALLE DOT might not be a name you're across just yet, but you only need to hear her new single 'Here With You', which we are premiering today on Purple Sneakers, in order to want to change that. A hazy, emotive and vulnerable slow jam that melds RnB influences with pop sensibilities, 'Here With You' is a cool and inviting dive into her world.

Alluring and vulnerable, the power of 'Here With You' comes from how understated it is. Using a less-is-more approach, Halle Dot uses the space she's created in her song to her advantage. From subtle saxophone to gentle piano keys and warm, swelling atmospherics, 'Here With You' is so captivating as it swells and blooms around you, enveloping you as it steadily builds. For fans of Teyana Taylor or The Internet, this simplistic song is one that stays with you long after its finished.

Speaking of her new single, Halle Dot said, “‘Here With You’ explores the ups and downs of a relationship. It’s inspired by going through a rough patch, but not wanting to give up. It’s about healing old wounds, and rejecting old, bad habits. It’s about hope. I wrote this song in my bedroom 2 years ago on my family farm where I grew up. Life got tough and I needed to move home for a while. Everyone was sleeping so I had to go for a drive and record my ideas in my car up the road, it was just on a little USB mic. I remember it was pouring rain and I had to record in intervals when the rain was light enough. The lyrics poured out of me in about 20 minutes.”

Now with a couple of singles under her belt, Halle Dot proves with this release that she is one to keep an eye on. Listen to 'Here With You' below:
