House of Mince to celebrate 9th Birthday with United We Stream Australia this Saturday night!

26 June 2020 | 2:58 pm | Emma Jones

Iconic Sydney promoters House of Mince are taking their ninth birthday celebrations online with a very special livestream this weekend!

Iconic Sydney community HOUSE OF MINCE are celebrating nine years of throwing legendary parties this weekend, and although COVID-19 had other plans, that hasn't stopped them from marking the occasion in true style. Taking to the virtual space instead, House of Mince is going to be livestreaming their celebrations straight to your living rooms this Saturday night, and is teaming up with the newly launched United We Stream Australia to make sure it is fittingly spectacular!

Whether in a Marrickville warehouse; a sweaty inner-city club; dancing in the clouds at Sydney Tower or feeling the harbour breeze at Sydney Opera House, locations change but the vibe remains the same. House of Mince’s atmosphere of elation and freedom comes from impeccable curation of DJs and the Mince crowd that congregate with an infectious eagerness to dance and rejoice in togetherness. Partly because of House of Mince’s partnerships with Berlin institutions Berghain and Cocktail D’amore, Mince fosters a like-minded queer community to that of its Berlin counterparts – you’re likely to see people dancing in next to nothing and you’ll see more colours at Mince!

Kicking off from 8pm, June 27th, House Of Mince's 9th birthday will feature DJs Ben Drayton, Anabelle Gaspar, Lorna Clarkson and Matt Vaughan, as well as hosts Millie Sykes, Kelly Lovemonster, Selfiegod and Sshneil.

This party also kicks off United We Stream's international Global Pride week-long program, and will be broadcasted globally for a cross-continental coming together from all walks of life.

EMC Director Jane Slingo said, “United We Stream not only raises money for the individuals and businesses that will not be able to fully operate for some time, it is also a wonderful community led project that sees the many incredible artists, collectives, promoters and venues around the country standing in solidarity to keep electronic music culture alive during the most challenging time we have ever experienced. House of Mince is an incredible party that is as much about the people who come together for it as it is about the amazing artists that perform there. We could not be more honoured to present House of Mince’s 9th birthday as a part of United We Stream’s Global Pride program which will be broadcast to the world from Saturday June 27.”

House of Mince 9th Birthday x United We Stream Australia 002 will be broadcast on Facebook, UnitedWeStream.com.au and UnitedWeStream.org at 8pm AEST on Saturday 27 June. For more information, head HERE.
