Bandcamp Buyer's Guide: Artists and labels donating proceeds to BIPOC organisations

5 June 2020 | 2:47 pm | Emma Jones

We've compiled another Bandcamp Buyer's Guide for another day of fee waiving from the retailer going to BIPOC organisations.

This Friday, June 5th from 6pm AEST, Bandcamp is once again waiving their fees for a full 24 hours. In light of the political unrest across the world fighting back against police brutality and systemic racism in light of the murder of George Floyd in the US and across the world, many in the music industry are doing their bit to pay the rent and will be donating proceeds to a number of charities and organisations here in Australia. We've compiled a non-exhaustive list below of those we are aware of, and we'll update as more come to light throughout the day. Dig deep if you can, and if you're able to go further, there are links for further donations and petitions at the bottom of this article.

Dinosaur City Records – All proceeds will go towards Sisters Inside, and Pay The Rent.

Future Classic – All proceeds to go towards Act Blue, a US based non-profit which donates to multiple charities fighting against white supremacy, and the National Justice Project, an Australian based advocacy group fighting for legal and social justice reform.

Solitaire Recordings - All proceeds will be donated to multiple US based charities including Black Visions Collective, Brooklyn Bail Fund, Black Legal Action Centre (Toronto) and Hoodstock.
