Live Review: PREMIERE: RVHU shines on his finest release yet, 'Gravity'

11 June 2020 | 10:10 am | Emma Jones

Brisbane producer RVHU delivers his finest work yet with his warm, breezy new single 'Gravity'.

It's been a minute since we've heard from Brisbane artist RVHU, but that's not to say he hasn't been hard at work. Since 2018, he has been busy crafting his soulful RnB sounds and has released a steady string of tracks which serve as insights into his evolution as an artist. Today, he arrives with his most self-assured release yet in 'Gravity', a celebration of all those who are there for us and a reminder to tell them you love them.

A triple threat as a guitarist, vocalist and producer, RVHU's latest single is his finest example of all of his skills thus far. From a crisp, booming beat to his flawless and rich vocals both in his singing and rapping, and lo-fi guitars that pierce the warm atmospheric haze, 'Gravity' is a three-minute swirl of heavenly RnB that acts as a big hug in uncertain times. His lyrics are deeply personal as he opens up about just how much those around him mean to him, and his sincerity and authenticity is palpable in his earnest delivery. Pair that with detailed, textured production that carries the song with its effortless, breezy beat and gentle guitar strums and you have yourself a winner with this one.

RVHU said of the single, "Gravity celebrates the everyday heroes in our lives - the ones who build us up and make us feel good about ourselves. Everybody has somebody. This song is an appreciation for them."

Focusing on a quality over quantity approach, RVHU continues to show he is not only one of his city's most exciting artists with each and every release, but also one of its best kept secrets as well. Now with 'Gravity', he levels up and delivers all the proof you need to get on board.
