Live Review: PREMIERE: NUSSY returns with otherworldly new single 'Sahara'

12 May 2020 | 9:59 am | Emma Jones

Melbourne's NUSSY returns with her first single in nearly two years in the otherworldly, escapist bop 'Sahara'.

If you're a fan of ROBYN, we have a treat for you today! Melbourne artist NUSSY makes her return this week with an otherworldly escapist bop titled 'Sahara', her first single in just about two years.

Another shimmering slice of electronica, NUSSY channels her impeccable knack for pop-focused vocal stylings and infectious lyrics into an all-out dazzling affair on this latest track, complete with a thumping bassline, eccentric samples and a four-to-the-floor beat that will get you grooving in no time. It's dynamic, punchy, and utterly intoxicating as it crashes into the hooks before expertly being pulled right back only to erupt again moments later.

NUSSY said of her new single, "I wouldn’t say I’m a particularly religious person but I believe in karma and basic principles like treating others how you would like to be treated."

"I don’t believe life is black and white and I don’t believe that life is preordained. Humans make their own decisions and have the choice of whether they learn from those decisions - good and bad. I wrote Sahara when I was on a really introspective journey. It’s about the growth of our own spirit and where that can take us on our journey."
