Live Review: Human Movement unleashes new single, 'Elevate'

27 March 2020 | 12:41 pm | Parry Tritsiniotis

After fans were practically begging for it to have an official release, Human Movement has finally obliged and unleashed 'Elevate' into the world.

Sydney's HUMAN MOVEMENT is back at it again, releasing today one of his biggest tracks yet. Honing further into a dance-ready focus, 'Elevate' served as a major highlight for Human Movement's many sets over summer, so with fans practically begging for an official release, he's finally obliged. Spanning over five-minutes, it's a full-bodied heater that sees Edward McDonald at maximum capacity, never letting up and packing more than a few punches.

‘Elevate’ quite simply is a monster. The track unites driving tech grooves with classic club sounds of 90’s era rave, tremulating vocal lines and gargantuan synth hooks. The drums come courtesy of an overheating 909 that sounds like it’s about to blow the fuse, and its arrangement will serve ultimate dance-floor damage upon delivery. The track is so preposterous that it will make you emotional playing it at home in isolation, as memories of chaotic club nights flash through your brain. As the second drop builds you'll have tears in your eyes reminiscing on classic DJ sets you've attended, or at the realisation you attended a club night for the last time in months and didn't even realise it.

It's a formidable release from an artist who never misses. Although its uncertain when we'll be able to return to the clubs, it's a bittersweet relief we've got club music like this to keep us going.
